I am a fifth year PhD student in the Joint Bioengineering program at UC Berkeley and UCSF, advised by Prof. Loren Frank (UCSF). I study how the brain extracts relational structures from a vast amount of experiences. Prior to this, I was fortunate enough to have worked with Prof. Michale Fee and Emily Mackevicius at MIT on songbird learning where I developed an algorithm for tracking the same neuron across days in optical data. Both the work then and now at UCSF center around neuronal sequences and temporal aspect of our daily experiences. While living in San Francisco, breathing in the fog, I often wake up from melodies in my dream. These melodies are made into songs under the Local Field Potential project.
